The Place Where I Live
“The Place Where I Live”
Christine Farmer, pen and ink drawing (10″ x 8.5″).
“When you find yourself in a dream landscape, everything seems significant, if only it were possible to discover and understand the meaning of the imagery. We wake up, and the dream persists: the emotions follow us through the first few minutes of the day, or return to us suddenly when a word or event ‘breaks our dream’. This haunting, ‘reaching-toward’ feeling is the one which motivates me to draw. Like searching for a word ‘on the tip of your tongue’, that familiar struggle to express and ‘define’ a fleeting or repetitive thought or emotion.”
