Fairbourne beach is close to Barmouth, to the south of the Mawddach Estuary in the Snowdonia National Park of North Wales. The foreground details are studies from collected shells and seaweed, the spoils of a day’s beachcombing. I think there are few activities more engrossing than walking the length of a beach as the tide goes out, looking for what the sea has left behind.
